The U.S. Embassy in Jordan has issued a formal advisory strongly recommending that American citizens consider departing the Kingdom via available commercial flights if they deem travel to be safe.
In a security alert released Saturday, the Embassy emphasized that the safety and security of U.S. citizens remain the top priority for President Trump, Secretary of State Rubio, and the Department of State. The advisory noted that the U.S. government stands ready to assist citizens wishing to exit the Middle East through various available channels.
Departure Options and Border Status
Commercial flights are currently operating out of Queen Alia International Airport. Citizens are encouraged to utilize these flights while conditions remain viable. The Embassy also provided the following status updates for land border crossings, noting that hours and accessibility are subject to immediate change based on security conditions:
King Hussein/Allenby Bridge: Open 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Closed Saturdays).
Wadi Araba Crossing: Open 7:30 AM – 9:00 PM.
Jordan River Crossing: Open 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
Jaber Crossing (Syria): Open 24 hours.
Saudi Arabian Borders (Al-Omari, Mudauwara, and Durra): All remain open 24 hours.
Maritime: Ferry services between Aqaba and Egypt remain available.

Authorities have urged citizens to exercise extreme caution, follow the instructions of local Jordanian officials, and remain vigilant against potential financial scams. The Embassy warned citizens to be wary of individuals requesting money and directed victims of fraud to contact the FBI.
