The Jordan Football Association has decided to move the international friendly four-nation tournament scheduled for March 2026 to the Turkish city of Antalya, due to the current situation in the region and limited travel movement.
The tournament features the national team (Al-Nashama) alongside Iran, Nigeria, and Costa Rica, as part of preparations for participation in the 2026 World Cup.
The decision to relocate confirms previous exclusive reports by Al-Rai newspaper, which revealed in last Wednesday's edition that there was an intent to move the tournament to Turkey to ensure that participating teams would not withdraw.
Tournament Schedule:
Friday, March 27: Al-Nashama face Costa Rica in the evening; Iran meets Nigeria on the same day.
Tuesday, March 31: Al-Nashama face Nigeria in the evening; Iran plays its second match against Costa Rica on the same day.
Al-Nashama will hold their final gathering before the World Cup finals in May and June. They are set to face Switzerland in St. Gallen on the evening of Sunday, May 31, before traveling to the United States to face Colombia in San Diego on the evening of Sunday, June 7. The team will then settle into its official World Cup base camp in Portland, USA.
The national team is preparing for its historic first-ever appearance in the World Cup, where it has been placed in Group J alongside Argentina, Algeria, and Austria.
