Companies and institutions have rushed to support the Jordanian national football team in its historic first participation in the World Cup finals, each choosing a unique way to express solidarity and engage with the public. Amidst these widespread efforts, creative artist Ghazi Khattab, founder of the "Amman Signboards Museum," emerged as a distinctive national sports figure in voluntary work, utilizing the museum to document Jordan's historic football achievement.
​Khattab devised an innovative idea to enhance visitors' connection with the national team, especially given the travel constraints imposed by the host countries (the United States, Canada, and Mexico) that limit fans from attending in person. He created life-sized cutouts of the official uniform of the "Nashama" team participating in the World Cup, allowing the museum's 400+ daily visitors to take commemorative photos as if they were wearing the national jersey. Additionally, a cutout of football star Musa Al-Taamari was placed at the entrance of the museum located in downtown Amman.
​Khattab also dedicated a prominent mural at the forefront of the Amman Signboards Museum to immortalize these historic moments. The mural features the distinguished Jordanian referee trio—Adham Makhadmeh, Mohammad Al-Bakkar, and Ahmad Al-Rwayli—who were selected to officiate World Cup matches. They are pictured alongside HRH Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein, President of the Jordan Football Association and the West Asian Football Federation, and Omar Al-Bishtawi, Head of the Referees Committee, who has played a significant role in advancing Jordanian refereeing.
​Through this mural, the Amman Signboards Museum documents a golden era for Jordanian football, representing a complete triangle of excellence: technical success with the team reaching the finals, officiating representation in the tournament, and administrative growth within the association. This initiative highlights Khattab's dedicated citizenship, as he consistently organizes special initiatives for Independence Day, Flag Day, Arabic calligraphy, and documenting the history of Amman and the nation in unprecedented ways.
​While profit-driven companies support the team to boost their own popularity alongside helping the national squad, the museum's non-profit, voluntary nature makes its contribution even more impactful. It fosters national belonging, spreads sports culture, and generates a positive atmosphere around the national team through community mobilization. Ultimately, a volunteer might not score a goal on the pitch, but they certainly help manufacture victory outside it—which is exactly what the Amman Signboards Museum is achieving.
