The national football team concluded its second Group J fixture at the FIFA World Cup 2026 with a 2-1 result against Algeria in a match that showcased the Nashama's competitive performance on football's biggest stage.
His Majesty King Abdullah II attended the match at San Francisco Bay Arena alongside His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II. Also in attendance were HRH Princess Rajwa Al Hussein, HRH Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II, HRH Princess Salma bint Abdullah II, HRH Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Football Association and the West Asian Football Federation, as well as a number of Their Royal Highnesses Princes and Princesses.
Jordan opened the scoring in the 36th minute through midfielder Nizar Al-Rashdan to take a first-half lead before Algeria scored twice after the interval.
The Nashama lined up with Yazeed Abu Laila, Abdullah Nasib, Yazan Al Arab, Hossam Abu Al-Dhahab, Ihsan Haddad, Muhannad Abu Taha, Nizar Al-Rashdan, Noor Al-Rawabdeh, Mousa Al Taamari, Ali Olwan and Mahmoud Al Mardi. Mohammad Abu Hashish, Ali Azayzeh and Oudah Al Fakhouri entered as substitutes during the second half.
Jordan compete in Group J alongside Argentina, Austria and Algeria.
The national team will wrap up its group-stage campaign against Argentina on June 28.
