The Jordanian Association of Plastic Artists is set to participate in the 40th edition of the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts, which commences on the 22nd of this month.
​The association’s activities will be hosted at the University of Jordan within the space of the Faculty of Arts and Design, featuring symposia and an exhibition:
​Sculpture Symposium: Scheduled to begin on July 14 and conclude on July 28. It features six sculptors, including three Arab artists.
​Painting Symposium: Set to run from July 22 to July 28. It includes the participation of 25 plastic artists, among whom are five Arab artists.
​Exhibition Opening: A joint exhibition showcasing the completed paintings and sculptures will officially open on July 28.
​The Executive Director of the festival, Yazan Al-Khdeir, emphasized that the inclusion of plastic arts is vital for documenting the aesthetics of place, strengthening national identity, and utilizing visual imagery as a universal human language. He expressed his appreciation to the University of Jordan and its Faculty of Arts and Design for hosting these creative events.
​Dr. Ibrahim Al-Khatib, President of the Association, stated that this participation is an extension of the association's historical role in nurturing the Jordanian art movement. He noted that plastic art does not merely decorate the cultural scene but actively shapes public awareness and memory, transforming local Jordanian elements—such as stone, the city, the desert, the countryside, heritage, and people—into a contemporary aesthetic discourse that represents a deeply rooted yet open identity. He added that the festival serves as a vital national, Arab, and international platform to bring Jordanian art out of traditional galleries into a living cultural space, while fostering a visual dialogue alongside Arab and international artists.
