The Jerash Association of Plastic Artists, in cooperation with the Jerash Directorate of Culture, organized a panel discussion on Tuesday titled "The Role of Youth and Their Participation in the Jerash Festival".
​The Executive Director of the Jerash Festival, Yazan Al-Khdeir, emphasized the vital role of youth and the media in making the festival's activities a success, noting that the festival serves as a real space to showcase youth energies and talents while strengthening their national and cultural identity. He announced that the 40th edition of the festival will feature 213 events held under the theme "An Extending Heritage... and Generations Meet," reflecting the festival's mission to enhance Jordanian cultural identity, expand its Arab and international presence, and establish Jordan as a destination for creativity and cultural tourism. Al-Khdeir added that the management curated a high-quality program covering literature, theater, plastic arts, poetry, heritage, folklore, and music, which acts as a cultural gateway that boosts tourism, the economy, and local job creation.
​For his part, the Chairman of the Greater Jerash Municipality Committee, Mohammad Bani Yaseen, stated that the Jerash Festival projects a bright civilized image of Jordan to the world and underscores the Kingdom's historical heritage. He pointed out the importance of linking the archaeological city with the modern city to enhance cultural and tourism development. The President of the Jerash Association of Plastic Artists, Tariq Al-Atoum, added that the association is keen on organizing activities that boost youth participation in the cultural scene and discover creative potential, praising the partnership with the Jerash Directorate of Culture.
​Cooperation Agreement Signed
​In a related development, the Greater Jerash Municipality and the management of the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts signed a cooperation agreement to enhance field and organizational coordination to ensure the success of the 40th edition. The agreement was signed by Mohammad Bani Yaseen and Yazan Al-Khdeir, in the presence of the Governor of Jerash, Dr. Malik Khreizat.
​During the signing, officials highlighted several key operational initiatives:
​Governor Khreizat affirmed the governorate's commitment to harnessing all capabilities to support joint coordination, noting that the festival provides significant value to the tourism and economic sectors.
​Bani Yaseen stated that the municipality has begun executing a comprehensive plan to rehabilitate sites and improve the urban landscape to match the historical status of Jerash.
​Al-Khdeir expressed his appreciation for the annual partnership with the municipality, confirming complete integration among all relevant entities to provide a seamless experience for visitors.
