​On Thursday, July 9, 2026, the Minister of Youth, Dr. Raed Sami Al-Adwan, patronized the opening ceremony of the Jordan National Line Follower Robot Championship (NLFRC 2026). The event, organized by TechBots, is being held at Al-Ahliyya Amman University with the participation of more than 100 teams representing universities, schools, training centers, science clubs, and independent teams from various governorates across the Kingdom.
​The patron of the ceremony was received by the Acting President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Professor Dr. Ahmad Hamdan; University Advisor, Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan; Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Mustafa Al-Atiyat; and the Director of the Arena Complex, Mr. Nader Sweidan. They welcomed His Excellency, expressing the university's pride in hosting this national event, which embodies its role in supporting creativity and innovation, promoting applied education, and providing an incubating environment for young talents in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence.
​The opening ceremony was attended by more than 500 participants, including competitors, coaches, and supervisors, alongside academics, experts, and individuals interested in the fields of technology and innovation.
​The Minister of Youth, Dr. Raed Al-Adwan, emphasized that the championship underscores the importance of investing in youth capabilities and empowering them in technology and innovation. He noted that Jordanian youth possess the skills and potential to transform knowledge into practical achievements that contribute to building the nation's future.
​Dr. Al-Adwan added that these competitions provide a space for youth to develop their skills in programming, engineering, and artificial intelligence, while enhancing their capacity for creativity and innovation in alignment with labor market and entrepreneurship requirements.
​The Acting President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Professor Dr. Ahmad Hamdan, reiterated the university's pride in hosting this national event, which brings together innovators from various regions of the Kingdom, highlighting the university's role in supporting applied education, scientific research, and fostering a culture of innovation among youth.
​The championship is one of the premier specialized national events in the field of line-follower robotics. Participants compete to design, build, and program autonomous robots capable of navigating specific tracks with speed and accuracy, offering a hands-on experience that combines programming, electronics, systems engineering, and artificial intelligence.
