The Executive Director of the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts, Ayman Al-Khudeir, confirmed on Friday that entry to the current edition of the Jerash Festival will be free of charge. He noted that most cultural, artistic, and heritage activities will be available to the public without fees, providing the opportunity for the largest possible segment of visitors to enjoy the festival's programs.
Al-Khudeir stated on his Facebook page that the free events include performances held at the Hippodrome (the racetrack area) and the Oval Plaza, in addition to visual and audio shows, the sound and light theater, plays, and dedicated children's activities, as well as poetry and literary evenings hosted at the Artemis Temple plaza.
He added that the festival includes markets showcasing local products made by women from the Jerash Governorate and several other governorates across the Kingdom, presented in a new display style that reflects local identity and supports national products.
Al-Khudeir pointed out that transportation from several governorates to the city of Jerash has been provided through a tourism transport company at a cost of JOD 6 per person round-trip, alongside discounted offers provided by a smart ride-hailing application company to facilitate visitors' access to the festival events.
He explained that concerts by Jordanian artists on the North Theater will also be free, though prior registration via the designated electronic ticketing platform is required to obtain a free ticket. He also noted that the Musicians Syndicate's concerts at the Roman Amphitheater and the Hashemite Plaza in Amman will be free as well.
Al-Khudeir mentioned that ticket prices for performances on the North and South Theaters start at JOD 15 per person for families and friends categories.
He indicated that the festival program includes diverse cultural activities at the Royal Cultural Center, featuring poetry and literary evenings, and seminars discussing the Jordanian narrative with the participation of Jordanian and Arab writers and intellectuals. This is in addition to fine arts exhibitions, including painting and sculpture, at the University of Jordan and Yarmouk University, alongside monodrama theater performances at the Royal Cultural Center.
He further added that the festival also offers heritage and folklore performances at a number of cultural centers and visitor centers in the governorates, as well as in Petra, emphasizing that the program includes many diverse events targeting all family members.
Al-Khudeir invited the public to participate in the Jerash Festival activities, which will launch on Thursday, July 23, and continue until Saturday, August 2, noting that the full details of the program and events are available on the festival's official website.
