As part of the cultural program activities of the Jordanian Writers Association, and in cooperation with the 40th Jerash International Festival for Culture and Arts—held under the slogan "An Enduring Legacy, Generations Meeting"—the Arar Cultural House in Irbid Governorate hosted a distinguished poetry evening on Friday evening, amidst a remarkable cultural and literary turnout, in a gathering that celebrated the beauty of the written word and opened new windows for communication between poets and lovers of literature and poetry.
​Moderated by media writer Mohammad Mohsen Obeidat, the evening featured Lebanese poet Magda Dagher alongside Jordanian poets Maher Al-Qaisi, Mohammad Haifawei, Mohammad Al-Smadi, Rasmi Al-Zaghoul, and Hassan Abu Dayyeh. The participants presented a collection of their poems and poetic experiences, which varied in themes and forms, carrying within their content images of beauty, humanity, homeland, and life.
​Writer Obeidat opened the meeting with welcoming remarks, in which he praised the symbolic status of Arar House, emphasizing that hosting such events in this cultural landmark carries special significance due to its firmly established presence in the Jordanian literary and cultural memory.
​The evening provided a spacious avenue for creative convergence, bringing together a poetic voice from Lebanon with Jordanian poetic voices, in a scene that underlines the importance of cultural events in fostering dialogue among creators, enriching the literary scene, and reinforcing the presence of poetry as a language of beauty, communication, and identity.
​The evening reflected an atmosphere of warmth and interaction, amidst appreciation for the audience and participants who contributed to the success of this cultural gathering. It restored the presence of poetry in one of the places most closely linked to the memory of Jordanian poetry—in Arar House, where the walls breathe the memory of a poet whose name was inextricably bound with freedom, the homeland, and poetry.
