The Al-Ahliyya Amman University choir and ensemble delivered a remarkable performance last week, filled with creative flair and drawing strong engagement from a packed audience that turned the Artemis Theater at the 40th Jerash Festival into a space of joy, admiration, and appreciation.
As event host Rania Al-Rawashdeh put it, the Al-Ahliyya Amman University choir "carried the message of music with passion to a memory that will endure."
Under the supervision of Arena Theater and Artistic Activities Director Nader Suwaidan, the choir opened with a highly skilled piano performance by Razan of Umm Kulthum's "Enta Omri," followed by another piano piece performed with equal skill by Rand, accompanied by Eisa and Zaid on saxophone and oud, performing Fairouz's "Ala Nabe' Al Mai" along with other pieces.
The choir went on to perform a set of songs and traditional dabke, including "Fadwa La Tourabek," "Hatha Al-Urdun," "Ola Wa Ola," "Ya Watani," "Louh Bil Shemagh Al-Ahmar," and "Lammat Farah," closing with the traditional Jordanian dahiya dance — delivering a standout performance that showcased the ensemble's creative talent.
Board of Trustees Chairman Dr. Maher Al-Hourani and Acting University President Prof. Dr. Ahmad Hamdan congratulated the university's performing ensemble on this achievement and its outstanding showing.
