Under the patronage of the Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan, Dr. Adel Al-Sharkas, the Jordan Loan Guarantee Corporation (JLGC) and the Islamic International Arab Bank (IIAB) signed an agreement launching the Retailers Guarantee Program to Support Supply Chains. The initiative aims to enhance the ability of retail enterprises—particularly micro and small businesses—to secure financing for operational needs and working capital.
The agreement was signed by Adnan Naji, Director General of the Jordan Loan Guarantee Corporation, and Eyad Al-Asali, Director General of the Islamic International Arab Bank, in the presence of Dr. Adel Al-Sharkas.
Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan, Dr. Adel Al-Sharkas, reaffirmed that the Central Bank continues to support initiatives that advance financial inclusion and expand access to financing for micro and small enterprises in alignment with economic development priorities. He noted that loan guarantee programs serve as crucial tools to mitigate credit risk for banks, enabling them to direct increased credit facilities toward productive sectors, sustain supply chains, stimulate economic growth, and generate job opportunities.
The launch of the program aligns with ongoing efforts to foster financial inclusion and empower the retail trade sector—a vital link in local supply chains—by guaranteeing credit facilities to help merchants maintain inventory and ensure business continuity.
Adnan Naji highlighted that the agreement underscores the corporation's commitment to developing tailored guarantee programs across economic sectors, expanding credit access for small and micro-enterprises to foster their long-term growth and stability.
Eyad Al-Asali emphasized the importance of partnering with the JLGC to provide financing solutions that assist merchants in meeting operational demands, thereby boosting national economic activity and bolstering supply chain resilience.
This agreement reflects shared commitment across the banking sector and the Jordan Loan Guarantee Corporation to widen the base of guarantee beneficiaries, stimulate economic activity, and strengthen enterprise stability nationwide.
