Al-Wehdat's administrative director, Tarek Khattab, told Al-Malaeb that his club's Super Cup meeting with Al-Faisaly amounts to "a clash between the two poles of Jordanian football," saying he hopes the match reflects well on both clubs, their fans, and Jordanian football as a whole.
Khattab said the return of the football season is a welcome occasion for every club, wishing both sides success and hoping the game marks a strong start to the new campaign.
"We hope the match does justice to both fan bases and to Jordanian football, and that it's a strong start to the season," he said. "God willing, the stadium will be full, the atmosphere electric, and in the end we'll come away having represented our football in the best possible light."
Khattab also addressed the financial difficulties Al-Wehdat has weathered in recent times, saying the club has moved past part of that period with the arrival of new backers. "Al-Wehdat is a big name with a big fanbase and big supporters, and we grow with everyone who gives something to our club," he said.
On the club's foreign-player roster, Khattab said that file is tied to football operations and that head coach Wasim Al-Bzour has the first and final say on it, adding that things are moving in a good direction and he hopes it's finalized positively.
