​Official data indicates that 706,065 Jordanians departed for outbound tourism during the first six months of 2026 (January through June), representing a 12.5% decline compared to the 806,971 outbound tourists recorded during the same period last year.
​Monthly figures were recorded as follows: January (161,709), February (104,051), March (99,153), April (70,237), May (127,851), and June (143,064). The sharpest occurred in April, which saw a 38.2% decline from 113,692 travelers in April 2025 down to 70,237 in April 2026.
​Central Bank of Jordan data further revealed that outbound tourism expenditure by Jordanians and residents dropped 6.7% in June 2026 to $182.4 million. Overall travel spending during the first half of 2026 decreased by 9.4%, totaling $906.1 million.
