Bahrain announced on Wednesday that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed a number of "Iranian aerial attacks" that it said targeted civilians in the Kingdom, confirming the continued readiness of its forces to deal with any threats.
The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force said in a statement that Iran is continuing its systematic hostile approach through its treacherous attacks targeting civilians in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
It added that the Bahrain Defence Force's air defense systems confronted, intercepted, and destroyed a number of Iranian aerial attacks on Wednesday, noting that all its arms and units remain at the highest levels of readiness and defensive preparedness to protect the Kingdom.
The General Command called on citizens and residents to exercise caution, avoid approaching any strange or suspicious objects that may result from the debris of the attacks, and report them immediately. It emphasized the readiness of the Royal Field Engineering units to deal with these objects technically and safely to preserve public safety for citizens and residents.
The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force considered the deliberate use of missiles and drones to target civilians to be a "blatant violation of international humanitarian law".
The United States stated early Wednesday that it launched a series of airstrikes on targets in Iran overnight, prompting Iran to respond in the most serious escalation of the conflict between the two countries in weeks.
