• Prof. Dr. Hamdan and Prof. Dr. Tarawneh Review the University's Modern and Technical Majors
​Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, stated that graduates of Al-Ahliyya Amman University their own jobs after being qualified in their specialization, undergoing training, and acquiring technological skills, communication skills, and personal attributes, allowing them to compete efficiently in the local, regional, and even global job markets.
​In an interview with Amman TV on the university campus, he added that the university is a distinguished national educational project developed over many years through the efforts of a large team comprising the Board of Trustees, faculty, and administration. It relies on foundational pillars such as quality education, developing scientific research, investing in infrastructure and technology, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence, creating a distinguished educational environment serving the student—who remains the focal point of the educational process—ensuring students graduate with high competence to compete with their peers.
​He pointed out the importance of considering students' inclinations when choosing their field of study, provided that the major is in demand in the job market.
​He affirmed the necessity of keeping pace with modern developments amidst the "revolution" of artificial intelligence and digital transformations, noting that the world is developing rapidly and will not wait for those who do not adapt, particularly in education. He also highlighted the great focus placed on developing teaching staff to keep up with these shifts.
​He stressed that the university works to foresee the future regarding the specializations and skills required in the job market, carefully preparing its students for the upcoming phase.
​Al-Hourani noted the importance of food and water security, renewable energy, and related disciplines. In line with significant advancements in agricultural technology and food manufacturing—including the application of genetics to improve agricultural products and increase yield while consuming less water—the university introduced a major in Food Manufacturing Technology.
​He also emphasized the importance of modern specializations in the fields of drones, semiconductors ("chips"), electric vehicles, and others.
​Furthermore, he pointed out the need to review, modify, and streamline high school (Tawjihi) streams so that students achieving high scores in the medical stream, for instance, can apply for other fields. He posed the question: What if a student does not wish to study medicine and instead wants to study cybersecurity? Should they be forced to retake Tawjihi?
​He proposed allowing students whose grades qualify them for majors in other streams to apply for their desired specialization, taking the required prerequisite courses for those streams at the university itself under the supervision of the Ministry.
​He expressed gratitude to the government and the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development for their continuous efforts toward development, modernization, and elevating the educational process.
​• Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hamdan, Acting President of the University, stated in a separate interview with Amman TV that, amid the rapid global developments, it has become crucial for universities to anticipate future specializations—focusing not just on what the job market requires now, but on what will be needed 5 to 10 years ahead. He noted that Al-Ahliyya Amman University, with 36 years of experience, possesses the necessary expertise to identify current market needs and future demands.
​He mentioned that the university forms partnerships and agreements with relevant institutions and companies in the job market to deliver instruction and practical training for students.
​Among the new majors offered at the university, he highlighted: Master's in Nursing Management Leadership, Bachelor's in Sports Technology, Bachelor's in Food Manufacturing Technology, and Bachelor's in Jewelry Design and Manufacturing—the latter supported by an agreement with "Diva," a company specializing in this field, describing it as "a one-of-a-kind specialization in the region."
​He highlighted the university's constant focus on the quality of its educational outcomes.
​• Prof. Dr. Bashar Tarawneh, Vice President of the University and Dean of the Faculties of Engineering and Technical Education, discussed the Faculty of Technical Education in a separate interview with Amman TV. He stated that the faculty was established in 2024 in alignment with the Economic Modernization Vision and the National Strategy for Higher Education, aiming to graduate students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to be job-ready.
​Detailing the faculty's offerings, he stated that it provides diploma programs accredited by Pearson International in the UK, where students receive a British certificate from Pearson upon completion, with the option to bridge to a Bachelor's degree. These specializations include Automotive Engineering, Software Engineering, Film and Television, Interior Design, and Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts.
​He added that the faculty also offers a National Diploma in Medical Devices Technology.
​He noted that the admission requirement for the technical faculty is a passing score of 50% or higher on the Tawjihi exam.
​He also pointed out the launch of a new Bachelor's degree program in Jewelry Design and Manufacturing, requiring an admission average of 60% or above.
​He affirmed that the faculty's programs were carefully designed to allow students to seamlessly and efficiently enter the job market.
