In a gesture that received remarkable engagement from its fans, Al-Wehdat Club recalled the good old days, coinciding with the approach of its upcoming match in the Jordanian Pro League.
The club published a photo of Al-Wehdat's team dating back to 1980 on its official social media pages, in a move that appeared as a recall of the 1980s era, coinciding with the widespread engagement across social media platforms regarding converting modern photos to look as though they were taken in that era.
The publication of the photo was not far removed from the atmosphere of competition, as the club made sure to remind its fans of the date of the upcoming fixture, combining the recall of history and nostalgia for the team's past glory with keeping up with trending social media content.
Al-Wehdat is preparing to face Al-Salt on Saturday, September 12, at 8:30 PM at the Amman International Stadium, as part of the second round of the Jordanian Pro League.
Al-Wehdat kicked off its campaign in the tournament with a scoreless draw against Al-Faisaly in the first round, earning a point at the start of its journey in the league.
The club's step to post the old photo confirms that Al-Wehdat does not limit its presence to the green pitch, but continues to interact with its audience across social media platforms, leveraging digital trends in a way that recalls the club's history and the memory of its fans, bringing back to the forefront images from an era associated with special memories for supporters of "Al-Akhdar" (The Green).
Between a photo from 1980 and the date of a new match in 2026, it seems Al-Wehdat wanted to tell its fans that history is always present, regardless of how generations change and social media platforms evolve.
