Egyptian coach Emad Al-Nahhas said in a televised interview on a sports program that he's happy to take on the head coaching job at Al-Wehdat, stressing that the club carries a big name and a wide fan base, and competes for every title it enters.
"Thank you so much, and God willing He'll help us through this new job. Al-Wehdat is a big name and a fan-driven club, and it competes for every title it takes part in. God willing, we'll be an asset to it," Al-Nahhas said.
He added that negotiations with the club's board went on for two or three days before both sides reached an agreement and solutions that satisfied everyone, noting he'll travel to Jordan tomorrow, Thursday, to begin his new job.
Al-Nahhas revealed some members of his coaching staff, explaining that roughly half the team he currently works with will join him at Al-Wehdat, including Mohammad Mohsen Abu Jresha as assistant coach and Abdul Rahman Farouk as a coach, along with Ayman Mohammad as performance analyst — while Amir Abdul Hamid, his goalkeeping coach, won't be joining, after Al-Wehdat opted to keep Omar Al-Kaswani on as goalkeeping coach.
The Egyptian coach spoke highly of the technical staff already in place at Al-Wehdat, stressing that the team had stayed cohesive under the previous coach, and that everyone praised his professional and technical competence.
Al-Nahhas closed by affirming his desire to work alongside the club's existing staff, and to deliver results and achievements befitting Al-Wehdat's name and standing in the period ahead.
