WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump stated that oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz remain ongoing, expressing expectations that global oil prices will decline once conflict with Iran concludes.
Trump noted that Iran is facing critical economic distress, pointing out that inflation in the country has escalated to nearly 300 percent. He added that the Iranian oil minister resigned from his post, alleging, according to Trump, that the country lacks a viable economy, oil reserves, or functional assets.
Regarding domestic U.S. economic conditions, Trump stated that the United States will maintain a robust dollar, asserting that a strong national currency does not induce inflation.
