Jordan is preparing to host a prominent international sports and tourism event with the launch of "Jordan Mixed Martial Arts Week" from October 27 to 30, featuring Jordanian and international athletes alongside sports stars. The program combines professional bouts, public activities, and tourist visits, culminating in the "DF: UNCAGED" fight night.
The event is held under the supervision of the Jordanian Mixed Martial Arts Federation, with support and cooperation from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Jordan Tourism Board, the Greater Amman Municipality, the Ministry of Government Communication, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Youth, and the Public Security Directorate.
The program includes 13 bouts featuring Jordanian champions alongside fighters from various countries, allowing Jordanian athletes to compete in front of their home crowd and showcase their capabilities within an event garnering regional and international media attention.
The guest program also includes figures from the worlds of sports, art, and content creation.
The program begins on Tuesday, October 27, with a press conference at the Odeon Theater next to the Roman Theater to present the details of the event and bouts, featuring organizers, participating athletes, and guests, in the presence of media outlets.
The Dead Sea Corniche will host open training sessions for the fighters on Wednesday, October 28, allowing the public to monitor their preparations and interact with them. This activity links sports with one of Jordan's prominent tourist destinations, aiming to stimulate activity at the site and highlight it within the coverage accompanying the week.
The Citadel Mountain in the capital, Amman, will host the official fighter weigh-in event on Thursday, October 29, in preparation for the fight night taking place on Friday, October 30, at the Roman Theater, which will feature artistic, heritage, and entertainment segments.
The guests' program also includes visits to tourist and archaeological sites across the Kingdom to experience the diversity of Jordanian destinations and their cultural and natural experiences, highlighting them through media coverage and content shared by guests with their followers worldwide.
Organizers emphasized that the week aims to support sports tourism and diversify the experiences Jordan offers visitors by holding activities in Amman, the Dead Sea, and various tourist destinations, linking competitions with introducing the Kingdom's archaeological and tourist sites and encouraging visits to them.
The event provides an opportunity to showcase Jordan's tourism richness to an international audience through sports by highlighting the Kingdom's history, cultural and natural diversity, and the hospitality of its people, connecting its civilizational heritage with contemporary life that welcomes visitors and hosts sports and cultural events.
Furthermore, the participation of athletic fighters and international guests, alongside accompanying digital content and media coverage, allows for sharing stories about Jordan, its sites, culture, and people with new segments of the audience, supporting its presence as a destination for tourism and event hosting.
Organizational, field, and media arrangements are underway in cooperation with relevant authorities to welcome participants and the public, while respecting the specificity of archaeological sites and the requirements for preserving them.
Tickets for the week's events and the fight night scheduled at the Roman Theater on October 30 have gone on sale via the "Tzkartee" platform, according to the categories available for booking.
