The hackathon will take place at the Coding Academy on May 11, coinciding with the International Day of Girls in Information and Communication Technology, celebrated worldwide on April 25 each year.
The main theme of this year’s event revolves around “Leadership”, emphasizing the need to enhance the participation of more girls and women in the technology sector effectively and contribute to decision-making in this vital field. Despite women occupying 40% of high-skilled jobs globally, their participation in IT-related fields remains low, necessitating collaborative efforts from all stakeholders.
Orange Jordan aligns with this global vision, aiming to digitally empower young women and keep pace with the global artificial intelligence revolution. Therefore, this year’s hackathon targets girls to enhance their skills in developing mobile applications and writing code, with a focus on artificial intelligence.
Orange Jordan invites all girls aged 18 to 22 from across the Kingdom to join the hackathon. It provides a creative space for girls to explore new horizons, where they will employ artificial intelligence techniques in their proposed applications. Orange will also offer training using App Inventor to facilitate the implementation process.
It’s worth mentioning that registration is open to all girls throughout Jordan via the following link until May 7, 2024: Registration Link : https://forms.gle/d1ftHHTZZ7jhZqfq7
