In celebration of the Arab Financial Inclusion Day, which falls on April 27th each year, the Jordan Children’s Museum, supported by the Arab Bank, concluded a special program that included various activities highlighting financial literacy and raising awareness among children. The program took place over two days, April 26th and 27th.
The Arab Bank’s support for this program is part of its strategy related to the “Together” social responsibility program, aligning with its direction through contributing to educational and awareness initiatives aimed at children. This includes the Arab Financial Inclusion Day, which is part of the “Community Connection” program launched by the museum in 2012. The program, which included numerous activities, aimed to introduce children to financial planning concepts and terms used in everyday life, such as saving, budgeting, bank accounts, and currency, and how to empower them to manage their financial affairs. The Arab Bank participated in the program through a special booth for the “Arabi Junior” program, and one of the bank’s employees took part in the “Meet and Greet” activity, sharing his banking experience with the children and educating them about the importance of banks and their role in our daily lives and how they can benefit from the financial services provided by financial institutions.
The program, which attracted more than 1,700 visitors, included activities focused on teaching and training children about financial matters, starting from their experience with a lemonade marketing activity, to a challenges and science activity that introduced children to the diversity of coins, as well as a plastic wallet activity where children created wallets from plastic bags, aiming to preserve both money and the environment. Additionally, there was a math challenge activity and many other activities concerned with financial literacy.
The Jordan Children’s Museum is a non-profit educational institution launched by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah in 2007. Located in the Al Hussein Gardens, the museum features over 190 interactive educational exhibits inside its hall and in its outdoor area, along with educational facilities including a library, art studio, and secret garden. The museum offers educational programs, events, and shows throughout the year.
It is worth mentioning that the Arab Bank adopts a comprehensive and integrated sustainability and community responsibility strategy that reflects the bank’s pursuit to solidify its economic, social, and environmental impact by continuously working with various community stakeholders to achieve sustainable development. The Arab Bank’s social responsibility program “Together” is one of the fruits of this approach, focusing on developing and nurturing different aspects of society through various initiatives and activities that serve several sectors, including health, environmental protection, education, orphan support, women’s empowerment, and more.
