Amman — As of today, 1,614,772 Jordanians have activated their digital identities through the government’s Sanad app, according to the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship.
The ministry stated that service updates through the Sanad app are ongoing, with increasing public interest in activating the digital ID, which provides access to multiple services across various government agencies.
Previously, the ministry had announced the experimental launch of the military service postponement feature through Sanad, in coordination with the Jordanian Armed Forces.
The 2024 annual report on the Economic Modernization Vision, released in February 2025, highlighted key achievements in the information technology sector, including the digitization of 1,530 government services — representing 64% of all public services.
Sanad was launched in February 2020 as part of the fifth executive package of the government’s economic program to support e-services and improve the business environment. Since then, multiple updates have been made to address initial performance issues.
The app allows users to access services with a unified username and password, replacing the need for multiple credentials. Activating the digital ID requires visiting a Sanad station or using a linked bank account through participating banking apps, which allow activation without needing to visit a station.
The government aims to reach 3.5 million activated digital IDs and fully automate all public services by the end of 2025, as outlined in its Public Sector Modernization Plan.
