Jordan Phosphate Mines Company and Arab Potash Company sign agreement to establish an integrated industrial complex for producing phosphoric acid, purified phosphoric acid, and specialised fertilisers in Aqaba and Al Shidiya.
The project aligns with Jordan’s Economic Modernisation Vision, aiming to enhance value chains and develop high-value manufacturing. It positions Jordan as a regional hub for value-added fertiliser production and reflects strong industrial integration between major national mining and chemical firms.
The facility will produce purified phosphoric acid, a key ingredient in specialised phosphate and potash fertilisers used in food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries. This expands Jordan’s access to high-demand niche markets and lays the groundwork for future industrial growth.
The project marks a shift in utilising natural resources for specialised manufacturing, boosting local value and supporting Jordan’s global competitiveness in fertiliser exports. It also promotes a production-based economy by combining national resources with industrial expertise.
Expected to generate direct and indirect jobs, the complex will also offer training and upskilling opportunities for Jordanian engineers and chemical industry workers, advancing local talent in high-tech, high-value manufacturing.
