As for Qatar’s exports to Jordan, it includes various chemicals, such as car oils, sulfonic acid, luterin, aluminum briquettes, paraffin, polyethylene, iron rods, chemical fertilizers of various kinds and their uses, plastic bags, car engine oils, organic fertilizers, and medical solutions, in addition to some commodities. and food products.
In exclusive statements to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Qatari businessmen praised the quality of Jordanian goods and products in the Qatari market, and the great demand they enjoy from various segments of consumers.
Hamad Al-Shamlan, a Qatari businessman, said that the Jordanian industry has achieved advanced levels and advanced qualitative leaps over the past few years, as Jordanian products have been able to compete strongly in the Qatari market compared to similar goods and products imported from other Arab and foreign markets.
He added that Jordanian products, especially food ones, were able, with their high quality, great competition and reasonable prices, to impose their presence and reach far places and markets around the world, not only our region.
He stressed that food products and commodities manufactured in Jordan in particular, have today a strong presence and wide spread in Qatar, and occupy a prominent position on the tables of Qatari consumers and residents, and in the priority of their regular purchase lists.
For his part, the Qatari businessman, Nasser Al-Suwaidi, said that most of Doha's stores, commercial markets, major shopping centers and outlets in various regions of Qatar are now devoid of Jordanian goods and products, which indicates the efficiency and quality of these products, and their preferred quality among consumers. As well as its great ability to meet the aspirations and desires of consumers.
He added that the Qatari consumer is now more accustomed to Jordanian goods and products than ever, given the specifications and standards of these products, and the momentum of their availability in various Qatari markets, so that their spread in stores has become a normal and welcome matter for consumers.
The Qatari market relies mainly on Jordanian food and goods, as it enjoys many advantages in terms of quality and moderate price levels compared to the competing goods that Qatar imports from other global markets.
The private sector in the two countries is keen to develop and promote joint economic and trade relations in a broader manner, for the benefit of the economies of Jordan and Qatar, and to expand the base of joint investment projects to support the growth of intra-regional trade.
During the past ten years, the volume of trade between Jordan and Qatar exceeded 11.5 billion riyals ($3.17 billion), according to the Qatar Planning and Statistics Authority.
The volume of Qatar's exports to Jordan, during the years 2012 to 2017, amounted to about 5.35 billion riyals, compared to 2.44 billion riyals for imports, bringing the value of the difference between exports and imports to 2.91 billion riyals, representing a trade surplus in favor of Qatar. The trade surplus in favor of Jordan amounted to one billion riyals, as the value of Qatar's exports during those years amounted to about 1.2 billion riyals, compared to 2.2 billion imports.
