World Health Organization data indicates that as of 2023, more than 700 women died daily from causes related to pregnancy that could have been prevented with proper intervention. While global maternal mortality has decreased by 40 percent over the last two decades, the vast majority of these tragedies continue to occur in low and middle income countries.
