AMMAN
Lebanese artist Fadel Chaker is preparing to return to live concert stages in Jordan following a prolonged absence. He will perform alongside his son, singer Mohammad Chaker, at the Dead Sea on November 14, 2026, as part of a tour of regional concerts marking the "Ya Ghayeb" singer's return to public performances after nearly 14 years away from live audiences.
Fadel Chaker and his son Mohammad announced the date of the upcoming concert via their official Instagram accounts, posting a joint promotional poster captioned: "A night long awaited, and finally the date approaches," inviting the public to what they described as an "exceptional night in Jordan."
Chaker’s return to Jordan holds particular significance in his career, as he previously performed at prominent Jordanian festivals, most notably the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts. He made his debut at Jerash in 2005 before returning to the South Theatre during the 2007 edition, performing a selection of his hits before an audience exceeding 2,000 spectators.
His second Jerash appearance saw enthusiastic audience response to songs such as "Ya Ghayeb," "Ya Hayat El Rooh," "Law Ala Qalbi," "Ma'qool Ansak," and "Allah A'lam" during a 90-minute concert.
In 2008, Chaker participated in the Jordan Festival with a concert on the Citadel Hill (Jabal Al-Qal'a) stage in Amman, attracting a wide local and Arab audience. He also performed another concert in Jordan in early July 2010.
The announcement of the Jordan concert comes in tandem with Chaker’s broader return to live performances, following a hiatus that began with his retirement from singing in 2012. He gradually resumed releasing new tracks in 2018, maintaining an artistic presence despite his distance from the stage.
His comeback schedule commences with two concerts in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on October 22 and 23 at the Abu Bakr Salem Stage as part of Riyadh Season under the title "Return of the Absent" (Awdat Al-Ghayeb)—with a second night added due to high demand.
Chaker and his son Mohammad are also scheduled to perform together in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, on October 30, before heading to Qatar for a joint concert on November 12 at the Katara Amphitheatre in Doha, leading up to their Jordan appearance two days later.
The joint performances hold added significance following prior collaborations between father and son, most notably the duet "Kifak A Fraqi" released in 2025, which achieved widespread popularity—transitioning their shared artistic project from recorded studio tracks to live stage performances.
This comeback marks a new phase as Chaker resumes direct engagement with live audiences, having maintained a strong presence through recent releases during his absence—such as "Sahak El Shoq"—alongside his classic catalog deeply rooted in the memory of Arabic romantic music.
