The Israeli Broadcasting Authority announced the commencement of counting double-envelope ballots in the Knesset elections, expecting the counting process to be completed by Thursday evening.
The vote counting results, excluding votes contained in double envelopes, showed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition securing 53 seats, compared to 48 seats for Gadi Eisenkot’s alliance, while Arab parties won 19 seats.
At the party and list level, the Likud Party won 26 seats, and the "Yashar" Party led by Eisenkot secured 21 seats. Both the Joint List and the "Together" (Beyachad) Party led by Naftali Bennett earned 12 seats each, while the "Democrats" Party received 8 seats.
Additionally, Yisrael Beiteinu, the United Arab List (Ra'am), United Torah Judaism, Otzma Yehudit, and Shas each won 7 seats, while the Religious Zionism list secured 6 seats.
The Israeli legislative elections for the Knesset were held on Wednesday, marking the first elections since October 7, 2023, amid fierce competition between the camp of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the opposition alliance led by Gadi Eisenkot, and Arab parties.
On Wednesday, the head of the Joint List parliamentary bloc in Palestinian interior regions, MP Ahmad Tibi, accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Likud party of attempting to distort the election results and question their legitimacy, following the surge in the Arab vote and its pivotal role in preventing Netanyahu from forming a new government under his leadership.
