The Fuel Pricing Committee held its regular monthly meeting on Saturday to announce the fuel prices applicable starting from the first of next November.
The committee reviewed the prices of petroleum products during October, comparing them with those of preceding months in light of the ongoing geopolitical tensions in the region and their impact on global markets.
Continuing the policy of gradual adjustments adopted by the government since the onset of the crisis—aimed at curbing the impact of global price increases on domestic retail prices and easing burdens on citizens and economic sectors—the committee decided on the following:
Continuing to freeze the price of diesel at 900 fils/liter.
Continuing to freeze the price of kerosene at 550 fils/liter.
Adjusting the price of 90-octane gasoline by 30 fils/liter, to become 1,080 fils/liter instead of 1,050 fils/liter.
Adjusting the price of 95-octane gasoline by 15 fils/liter, to become 1,375 fils/liter instead of 1,360 fils/liter.
Freezing the price of the domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder (12.5 kg) at 7 JOD.
Continuing to subsidize LPG allocated for the industrial sector with an amount reaching up to 2.4 million JOD for the month of November.
The committee emphasized that domestic pricing for petroleum products relies on the monthly average of international prices during the 30 days preceding the pricing day. However, the government continues to absorb a significant portion of the variances between actual costs and local retail prices, as expected actual costs according to data available to date reached:
90-octane gasoline: 1,132.1 fils/liter, whereas it was decided to price it at 1,080 fils/liter.
Diesel: 1,034.3 fils/liter, whereas it was decided to freeze its price at 900 fils/liter.
Kerosene: 1,047.8 fils/liter, whereas it was decided to freeze its price at 550 fils/liter.
