​Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Dr. Emad Hijazeen met on Tuesday with a high-level French church delegation led by Archbishop Thibault Verny, Archbishop of Chambéry and President of the Pontifical Commission at the Vatican. The meeting included Mr. Laurent Coiret, Secretary-General of the Regional Council for Catholic Education in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, and Mr. Cédric Bloquet, Director General of Bibles, a firm specializing in organizing pilgrimage tours and religious visits.
​The meeting addressed prospects for building strategic partnerships with church institutions and pilgrimage tour operators to strengthen Jordan’s presence in the French market, consolidate its position on the global religious tourism map, and attract more pilgrims as part of preparations leading up to the year 2030.
