Oil prices rose on Thursday following Houthi attacks targeting locations in Saudi Arabia, which prompted Washington to order non-emergency diplomatic personnel and their family members to depart US missions in the Kingdom.
By 00:34 GMT, Brent crude futures advanced $1.29, or 1.2%, reaching $110.11 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude gained 97 cents, or 1%, standing at $98.12 per barrel.
Brent crude had closed Wednesday's session virtually unchanged, whereas WTI crude had declined by 67 cents.
US officials told Reuters that the State Department also intends to withdraw diplomatic family members from several other American missions in the region.
The developments follow a series of attacks launched on Wednesday by the Iran-aligned Houthi group against multiple targets in Saudi Arabia. The strikes resulted in at least one death and eight injuries at a civilian airport in Dammam, while a separate drone strike targeting a Saudi oilfield killed two people.
