The Arab Potash Company (APC) achieved distinguished financial and operational performance through the end of the third quarter of the current year, 2026, grounded in the efficiency of its production system and the flexibility of its marketing policies, which enabled the company to maximize sales revenues and consolidate its presence in high-yield global markets despite geopolitical volatility and international supply chain disruptions.
Consolidated financial data released by the company showed a 34% increase in net profit after provisions, income tax, and mining fees, reaching approximately JOD 169 million during the first nine months of the current year, compared to JOD 127 million for the same period last year.
This growth was driven by an increase in operating profit and revenues from potash operations, alongside growth in income from the company's investments. Operating profit derived from potash operations rose by 66% to reach JOD 175 million compared to JOD 105 million for the corresponding period, while net revenues from potash sales grew by 16% to record approximately JOD 563 million against JOD 488 million. Furthermore, the company's investments in associate companies continued their positive performance, generating an investment income of approximately JOD 41 million, reflecting a 40% growth.
Operational indicators reflected continued growth in production capacity, as potash production volume by the end of the third quarter reached nearly 2.19 million tons compared to 2.15 million tons for the previous period, registering a 2% growth. Meanwhile, the company set a new record in sales quantities, totaling approximately 2.25 million tons compared to 2.18 million tons, representing a 3% growth.
In an indicator highlighting the company's pivotal role in supporting the national economy, Arab Potash Company and its subsidiaries and associates bolstered the Jordanian banking system with approximately $1.23 billion in foreign currencies by the end of the third quarter, a 19% growth compared to the same period of the previous year, which recorded $1.03 billion.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arab Potash Company, Eng. Shehab Abu Hdeib, confirmed that the financial and operational results achieved through the end of the third quarter of the current year reflect the efficiency of long-term corporate planning and the company's solid ability to achieve sustainable growth rates amidst accelerating geopolitical challenges.
Eng. Abu Hdeib explained that this strong performance reinforces APC's pivotal role as a strategic pillar of the national economy, actively contributing to strengthening the Kingdom's foreign currency reserves and stimulating the domestic investment and manufacturing environment.
Eng. Abu Hdeib pointed out that moving forward with capital projects enhances Jordan's competitiveness in the global mining sector, commending the relentless efforts of the executive management and all workers at production sites, while valuing their dedication to safeguarding the company's gains, protecting shareholder interests, and supporting comprehensive economic and social development.
For his part, Chief Executive Officer of Arab Potash Company, Dr. Maen Nsour, explained that the noticeable rise in profits and operating revenues reflects the success of marketing policies in maximizing returns through deliberate expansion into high-profit quality markets, alongside consolidating historical export shares in major traditional markets.
Dr. Nsour noted that prudent management of production efficiency and supply chains, combined with the adoption of alternative shipping solutions amid difficult geopolitical conditions, enabled the company to navigate maritime shipping fluctuations and challenges while fully honoring all contractual commitments across various markets and regions.
Dr. Nsour reaffirmed the ongoing diligent work toward executing all expansion plans at Arab Potash, foremost among them the Southern Expansion Project to raise production capacity, thereby strengthening the company's ability to meet growing international demand for potash and fertilizer products and increasing the mining sector's contribution to gross domestic product (GDP).
Arab Potash Company continues to execute its strategic plans aimed at investing in sustainability projects, digital transformation, and carbon footprint reduction, alongside expanding the diversification of derivative industries to maximize the added value of national mining resources and support the Kingdom's Economic Modernization Vision.
