AMMAN
The National Charter Party expressed deep sorrow, grief, and strong condemnation over the heinous crime that claimed the life of a member of the Public Security Directorate (PSD), who was killed in a sharp-tool attack while performing his duty in the capital, Amman. The party described the incident as a serious assault on the rule of law, the prestige of the state, and community security.
In its statement, the party extended its sincere condolences and sympathy to His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, the Public Security Directorate and its entire personnel, and the family and relatives of the martyr, praying to Almighty God to bestow His vast mercy upon him and grant his family and brothers-in-arms patience and solace.
The party emphasized that public security personnel constitute the first line of defense for citizens' security and the stability of the homeland. It stressed that assaulting them while on duty is an attack on the state, its institutions, and society's fundamental right to safety and security—a matter that cannot be tolerated or treated as a casual incident.
While appreciating the national role and immense sacrifices made by the brave members of the security agencies, the National Charter Party underscored the necessity of enforcing the law with absolute firmness and holding accountable anyone proven to be involved in this crime in accordance with the law, pending the results of official investigations and the clarification of all circumstances surrounding the incident.
Furthermore, the party called for promoting a culture of respect for the law, strengthening trust between citizens and state institutions, and confronting any behavior or rhetoric that undermines the prestige of national institutions or incites violence against those tasked with protecting the nation and its citizens.
The party concluded by affirming that Jordan's security and stability are a red line, and that state prestige and the rule of law are two non-negotiable pillars. It stressed that the unity and solidarity of Jordanians behind their Hashemite leadership and national institutions will remain the bedrock of Jordan's strength and resilience.
