AMMAN
Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Omar bin Feisal, President of the Jordanian Esports Federation, Zain Jordan—through its Zain Esports Jo center—and in cooperation with the Jordanian Esports Federation, concluded the competitions of the second edition of the Zain Esports Universities Championship 2026. The tournament saw widespread participation, bringing together more than 3,000 male and female students representing 16 Jordanian universities.
Organized by the Jordanian Esports Federation, the championship forms part of a multi-year strategic partnership between the Federation and Zain Jordan. The initiative aims to support national efforts to reinforce the Kingdom’s standing as a regional hub for technology, innovation, and esports, while cementing Jordan's presence on the regional gaming map. Furthermore, it contributes to diversifying the national economy, driving growth in promising digital sectors, and creating new opportunities for youth to boost the sector's contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Zain Jordan continues to support and develop the domestic esports sector as a key driver of the digital economy. Through its targeted tournaments, the company focuses on discovering local talent, refining players' capabilities, and preparing them to represent Jordan in regional and international arenas, while offering young people pathways into professional and investment opportunities within the global gaming industry.
The tournament began with internal university qualifiers to top players to represent their respective institutions in the final stages, culminating in the determination of the top three winners in both the male and female categories.
At the conclusion of the competitions, the top three winners in each category were officially crowned:
Male Category:
1st Place: Rakan Qubaiwi (German Jordanian University)
2nd Place: Ali Al-Dmour (Mutah University)
3rd Place: Omar Shehadeh (Princess Sumaya University for Technology)
Female Category:
1st Place: Eman Al-Khatib (Al-Hussein Technical University)
2nd Place: Manal Al-Majali (Mutah University)
3rd Place: Rawand Abu Hasna (Applied Science Private University)
Events and tournaments organized by Zain Esports Jo continue to attract significant engagement and attendance among youth and gaming enthusiasts across the Kingdom, with the center's various activities accumulating over 12 million views to date.
