The Elia Nuqul Foundation and the Jordan Kuwait Bank signed a cooperation agreement, according to which the bank offers scholarships in public Jordanian universities to promising students whose economic conditions did not help them complete their university studies in addition to their enrollment in the programs offered by the Foundation.
The agreement was signed by the Foundation's General Manager, Randy Abdeen, and the Bank's Head of Strategy and Marketing, Dana Jaradat.
According to the agreement, the bank will cover the tuition fees of a number of eligible students, in addition to covering the monthly transportation expenses throughout their study period, while the institution will engage the students in the development programs and systematic and extracurricular training that it runs to develop their skills and prepare them to enter the labor market.
Randy Abdeen, after the signing of the agreement, pointed to the importance of educating and qualifying young people and providing them with various scientific and life skills to develop themselves, stressing the need for solidarity and cooperation of various parties, especially the private sector, to contribute to the efforts made in this area as a matter of social responsibility.
She pointed to the efforts made by the Foundation with its strategic partners to meet the needs of society and support the youth sector, indicating the Foundation's endeavor to involve new segments of the private sector by concluding agreements that contribute to empowering young people and opening up future prospects for them.
For her part, Jaradat said, "The agreement is in line with the social responsibility programs and the initiatives adopted by the Bank that pay special attention to supporting the education sector as it is an important and fundamental pillar of community development. Ambition and desire to learn despite their difficult circumstances.
She added, "Education is the path to self-development and the path of the future for societies. It unleashes various opportunities and reduces inequalities. It is the cornerstone of societies and the main driver of sustainable development."
Jaradat expressed her hope that the support provided by the Bank to the Foundation will contribute to motivating young people to complete their educational path and develop their skills to achieve their future aspirations.
Since its establishment in 2008, Nuqul Foundation aims to qualify young people by providing them with opportunities to complete their higher academic studies in public universities and community colleges or to go to vocational education. Training programs to develop the personal, scientific, linguistic and technical skills of students and qualify them to enter the labor market.
