Two former Israeli prisoners who were held by Hamas in Gaza recounted the times they spent inside the Strip.
Agam said, in a television interview, that when she was captured on October 7, she asked members of the resistance to keep her with her family, and she was surprised that her request was met and even confirmed that this would happen.
She added: "We stayed together, and this is what surprised me. At first, I thought I would be handcuffed and put in prison," noting that she had been exercising throughout her detention.
Agam confirmed: "Women are sacred to them. They are treated like a queen," noting that "the resistance fighters protected us with their bodies from the bombing of army aircraft, and were keen for us to be happy. The resistance fighters do not bow down despite the strikes and do not retreat."
Ajam’s mother said that the resistance members gave her daughter “a very beautiful Arabic name, Salsabil,” adding: “This means the water mentioned in the Qur’an, such sweet water. What a coincidence. My name in Israel is Ajam, which means lake.”
Social networking sites were abuzz with the video of Chen Almog Goldstein and her daughter Ajam. Activists reacted to the mother and daughter’s statements about the good treatment of them by Hamas fighters, who protected them and allowed them to practice sports. They called Ajam “Salsabil” and showed great respect for them.
Naming the young Israeli woman with an Arabic name impressed her mother, who praised their good choice of Salsabil, which means water mentioned in the Qur’an.
Activists also praised the interview broadcast on Israeli television, especially since it showed a positive side for the fighters of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas,” thus denying all Israeli accusations of “raping and ill-treating female prisoners.”
