The exports of Amman Chamber of Industry, during the past year, amounted to 7.172 billion dinars, compared to 7.579 billion dinars in 2022.
According to statistical data obtained by the Jordanian News Agency (Petra), 6 sectors recorded an increase in their exports by 3 percent for the packaging, paper, cardboard and office supplies industries, 48 percent for the construction industries sector.
In contrast, exports of the remaining four sectors fell by between 1 percent for the leather and titting industries and 19 percent for the mining, wood and furniture sectors, both separately.
Together, Arab and foreign countries accounted for more than half of the chamber's exports during the past year: India, the United States of America, Saudi Arabia and Iraq, recording 4.047 billion dinars.
According to statistical data, the Chamber's exports to the United States of America increased by 18 percent last year, reaching 1.153 billion dinars compared to 977 million dinars in 2022.
Amman's industry exports to Saudi Arabia increased by 6 percent last year, reaching 808 million dinars compared to 759 million dinars during 2022.
The chamber's exports to Iraq also increased last year by 22 percent, to record a value of 875 million dinars, compared to 714 million dinars in 2022.
On the other hand, the chamber's exports to India fell last year by 16 percent, registering 1.211 billion dinars compared to 1.483 billion dinars in 2022, and yet came at the forefront of the Arab and foreign countries that receive the most exports of Amman's industry.
According to the geographical distribution of the Chamber's exports during the past year, the Arab countries came in the fore with a value of 3.304 billion dinars, then the Asian non-Arab countries 1.900 billion dinars, and the African countries 65 million dinars.
The exports of Amman's industry to North American countries during the past year amounted to 1.215 billion dinars, South American countries 104 million dinars, European Union countries 305 million dinars, European countries other than countries of the Union 170 million dinars, and other countries with a value of 109 million dinars.
The Chamber's exports last year 2023 were spread to the mining industries sectors worth 2.165 billion dinars, chemical and cosmetics 1.255 million dinars, and engineering, electrical and information technology 1.050 billion dinars.
According to statistical data, the exports of the supply, food, agricultural and livestock sectors amounted to 746 million dinars, therapeutic and medical supplies amounted to about 686 million dinars, and leather and mokes 464 million dinars.
The rest of the exports of the Amman industry during the past year 2023 were spread to the sectors of the packaging, paper, cardboard and office supplies industries worth 298 million dinars, plastic and rubber about 272 million dinars, construction 218 million dinars, and wood and furniture industries worth 18 million dinars.
It is noteworthy that the Amman Chamber of Industry, which was established in 1962, currently includes in its membership 8,600 industrial facilities, employing 159,000 workers and working with a capital of about 5 billion dinars.
