During subsequent bilateral discussions that took place in the Canadian capital, Ottawa, His Majesty the King stressed the importance of working to reach a ceasefire as soon as possible.
His Majesty pointed out that many in the region and various countries of the world are working to reach a ceasefire, praising Canada's efforts in this regard.
His Majesty the King stressed the importance of overcoming challenges as quickly as possible, pointing out the need “not to forget the necessity of working to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza urgently.”
His Majesty also stressed the necessity of reaching a final solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict to give the Palestinians a future in which they have their own independent state and in a way that guarantees the security of Israel.
His Majesty the King referred to the distinguished relations that have united the two countries for a long time, praising the continuous coordination with the Canadian Prime Minister since the beginning of the war on Gaza and the work he is doing to end this war as quickly as possible.
For his part, the Canadian Prime Minister considered that the situation in Gaza and in the Middle East in general is painful, stressing that the threats to take additional measures in Rafah caused deep concern for everyone.
Trudeau said, "These times are very complex around the world, but it is an opportunity for us to meet as friends to discuss how to continue working together and in the right direction."
The Canadian Prime Minister pointed out the need for the release of hostages in Gaza and a sustainable ceasefire, stressing the importance of bringing more humanitarian aid into the Strip.
Trudeau added, "We need to witness stability and peace in the region, and we also need to work to achieve a two-state solution, which is the only way to ensure sustainable peace and security."
The Canadian Prime Minister appreciated the essential role of His Majesty the King's leadership, his ability to bring points of view closer together, and his tireless efforts to bring aid into Gaza and support the Palestinians.
He expressed his pride in communicating with His Majesty the King and continuing to work with him to find out how Canada and Canadians can help in light of a very difficult situation in the region, which has major repercussions on societies around the world, including Canada.
During the expanded discussions, His Majesty the King warned of the regional repercussions of the continuation of the war on Gaza, for which everyone will pay the price.
His Majesty stressed Jordan's complete rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, reiterating the necessity of allowing the residents of the Gaza Strip to return to their homes.
His Majesty the King affirmed Jordan's rejection of any attempts to separate the West Bank and Gaza Strip, which constitute an extension of the one Palestinian state.
His Majesty warned that the acts of violence committed by extremist settlers against the Palestinians and the violations of Islamic and Christian holy places in Jerusalem will lead to an explosion in the situation in the region.
His Majesty the King stressed the importance of the international community’s continued support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), to enable it to provide its services in accordance with its UN mandate, especially in light of the tragic humanitarian situation that Gaza is witnessing.
His Majesty reaffirmed that there is no peace or stability in the region without a just solution to the Palestinian issue, based on the two-state solution that restores the Palestinian people to their full legitimate rights and guarantees the establishment of their independent, sovereign state along the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The discussions covered the strong relations between the two friendly countries, and mechanisms for developing cooperation in various fields.
The discussions were attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Al-Safadi, Director of His Majesty’s Office, Jaafar Hassan, the Jordanian Ambassador to Canada, Sabah Al-Rafii, and a number of Canadian officials.
