The Royal Jordanian Airlines will start operating a flight from Amman to London Stansted starting from Sunday at a rate of 3 flights per week, and to Manchester starting from next Wednesday at a rate of two flights per week.
This comes within the “company’s commercial strategy to expand its network of lines, open promising markets and focus on attracting inbound tourism, and in a way that enhances the movement of air transport between Jordan and the world” according to what the company said.
The vice president of the board of directors of Royal Jordanian, Samer Majali, said that “Stansted and Manchester are a major addition to the Royal Jordanian network”, adding that the company “aims to provide new travel options for travelers, serve the Jordanian and Arab communities residing there, facilitate the movement of businessmen, in addition to stimulating tourism to Jordan from European destinations”.
Majali, who is also the CEO of the company, indicated that the decision to operate flights to these two stations comes within the framework of the joint keenness to develop bilateral relations between Jordan and the United Kingdom, and to facilitate the Jordanian citizens who wish to visit the United Kingdom, and to encourage tourism and investment, especially with the start of issuing electronic visas to Britain.
He affirmed that “Royal Jordanian, the national carrier of Jordan, supports the national efforts aimed at promoting Jordan as a tourist destination and linking Amman with major stations by providing many travel options for passengers and building a strong regional aviation network and increasing the pace of flights to vital cities”.
Majali referred to the company’s plan to expand the network of destinations to reach 60 stations and increase the size of the aircraft fleet to more than 40 aircraft during the coming years, to keep pace with the growth and development in the world of air transport industry and meet the growing travel movement.
