The President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan, honored the participants in the activities of the Ramadan Charity Iftar celebrations, including iftars for orphans and iftars for female students’ residences at the College of Culinary Arts and Hospitality, in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs.
The honoring ceremony was attended by the Vice President for International Relations and Quality Affairs, Professor Dr. Anas Al-Saud, and the Dean of the College, Dr. Suzy Hatough.
Hamdan delivered a speech of thanks during the ceremony, where he praised the efforts made by the participants in organizing and implementing Ramadan activities.
He also thanked and appreciated the students who participated in organizing these activities and demonstrated solidarity and cooperation in the highest sense of community volunteering.
For her part, Dean of the College, Dr. Suzy Hattogh, expressed her pride in the volunteer efforts made by the students in serving the community and motivating them to actively participate in charitable activities.
She said: What the college students did in five days exceeded expectations, as the college students made an extraordinary effort with motivation and passion. The students prepared and served 1,500 breakfast meals over five days in the Arena Theater, which were distributed to 1,200 orphan children and 300 female students at the university, in cooperation with trainers and faculty members.
37 male and female students participated in the activities over the five days, working hours ranging between 8-10 hours per day, meaning a total of 80-100 working hours during the entire period.
The Vice President for International Relations and Quality Affairs, Professor Dr. Anas Al-Saud, presented the results of the QS classification of scientific fields for this year, which witnessed the distinction of the Hospitality Management major, in which the university ranked 101-150 in the world.
He explained that the university is working to achieve the highest international educational quality standards within a set of indicators that contribute to achieving continuous development and keeping pace with all the scientific specializations that it offers. He explained that the university’s entry into the top 150 universities in the world in the specializations of hospitality management offered by the College of Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts. The university confirms that the university operates within the highest quality standards, as this college was established only three years ago and today it competes among the best 150 universities in the world. This is thanks to modern study plans and modern infrastructure of laboratories and facilities, in addition to a teaching and administrative staff qualified with the highest scientific and professional qualifications.
The President of the University, Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan, congratulated the Dean of the College on achieving this qualitative achievement, stressing the University’s keenness to develop all academic programs in order to achieve its goals of global competitiveness by providing qualitative education with the highest international standards.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the sponsor of the ceremony handed over certificates to the students as an appreciation and gratitude from the university for their good efforts in serving the community.
