For the third year in a row, the “Inspiring Change” award has emerged as a distinguished platform for innovation and creativity in Jordan. Launched by Orange Jordan in collaboration with the Information Technology and Communications Companies Association “Intaj,” this award serves as a gathering point for Jordanian women who have bolstered their creativity with the boundless capabilities of technology.
During the second phase of the award, eight Jordanian innovators showcased their creative projects, selected from over 90 submissions, before a specialized jury panel that evaluated and then chose three winning projects for the final stage.
The participating projects in this phase included Tameen and Reem, aiming to provide educational cartoon content for children in Arabic; Akin-Manzel, specializing in offering educational content enhanced with artificial intelligence and virtual reality technologies; Maluk, aimed at helping employees enhance their financial skills; MatjarBot, an e-commerce store redefining the concept of online shopping; SOLVillion, working on enhancing water conservation; Smart Green for AgriTech Solutions, offering innovative AI-based solutions for farmers; Profounders, integrating play and AI in training technologies; and Anwan, specializing in providing professional Arabic content writing services.
The jury panel consists of Rana Dababneh, Executive Director of Corporate Communication and Sustainability at Orange Jordan; Maha Al-Saied, Board Member of “Intaj” responsible for women’s empowerment; Jean Set Kandour, Program Director at the Jordan Innovation Fund; Tulin Barto, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communication at Capital Bank Group; and Salam Shoman, Partner at PWC.
Rana Dababneh appreciated the creative ideas of the women, which added a unique touch to another significant milestone within the award, continuing to inspire more innovators for the third year. She expressed her delight in focusing on education as one of the most vital sectors and the cornerstone for building an advanced society in all fields.
Highlighting the exceptional achievements of Jordanian women in the technology and communications sector, Maha Al-Saied emphasized the importance of the “Inspiring Change” award in driving innovation and change by enhancing women’s roles in this vital sector.
Al-Saied added that the award is not only a recognition of female talent in Jordan but also a catalyst for women’s potential in the communications and information technology sector, stressing that women prove every day their ability not only to participate but also to lead and innovate.
She pointed out that the award supports the efforts of the SHETECHS unit within the association, aimed at enhancing the presence, participation, and representation of women in the sector.
It is noteworthy that the award’s participation criteria include that women represent at least 25% of the startup team, and the applicant must be a founder, co-founder, or hold a leading executive or administrative position in an active startup registered in Jordan.
The selection of winners focuses on the social and environmental impact of the project, whether it achieves sustainable development goals, and its growth potential. The prizes include 3000 dinars for the first place, 2000 dinars for the second place, and 1000 dinars for the third place, with the final results expected to be announced in July.
