The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Middle East University, Senator Dr. Yaqoub Nasereddin, during his patronage of the Engineering Faculty’s Scientific Day, in the presence of the Head of the Jordan Engineers Association, Eng. Ahmad Samara Al-Zoubi, and the University President, Prof. Salam Al-Mahadin, and faculty deans, affirmed the university’s full comprehension of the economic advancement requirements called for by the Royal Vision. This includes preparing for the communications revolution, information technology, and the fourth industrial revolution, which tests our resolve as we enter the second centennial of the state’s life, also celebrating the Silver Jubilee of His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein’s assumption of his constitutional powers.
This comes at a time when the Civil Engineering program and the Renewable Energy Engineering program at the Faculty of Engineering have received American ABET accreditation, a strong indicator of the quality of educational programs in engineering and technology, enhancing their reputation and raising the level of higher education. These programs join other internationally accredited disciplines in the faculties of Pharmacy, Arts and Educational Sciences, Law, and Business.
Dr. Nasereddin highlighted that the challenges have always compelled us to explore how to utilize our capabilities to serve our country and contribute to the collective national effort to maximize competitive advantages and develop scientific skills. He added that the initiatives adopted by HRH Crown Prince Al-Hussein Bin Abdullah to develop youth skills, excellence, entrepreneurship, and community service are the best evidence of the importance of preparing the necessary environment for transitioning to a new phase of the state ready for all that is to come.
Eng. Al-Zoubi praised the student projects that provided an insightful look into the future of civil engineering, saying, “As time passes, our world presents us with challenges that require bold and innovative solutions. Today, we witness on the campus of this distinguished university projects backed by brilliant minds generously invested in for a bright future.”
He also emphasized that the university’s pivotal role in laying the foundations of hard work for a clear message: the world no longer needs traditionalists, and the university has its own rules in preparing for the new world.
In turn, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Ayman Al-Nsour, during his speech at the scientific day presented by faculty member Dr. Mohammed Al-Husban, pointed out the utmost importance of the scientific day for the Faculty of Engineering. It is not just an event in the academic calendar but a vital link showcasing the engineering acumen of students, highlighting the vitality of the engineering community at the university and also fueling the spirit of intellectual curiosity and exploration.
It is worth mentioning that the Scientific Day was graced by the participation of 19 institutions of the same specialty and witnessed a scientific competition followed by the presentation of success stories of several graduates, making it a testament to the strength of collective efforts to push the boundaries of knowledge and harness engineering capabilities for the benefit of future generations.
