Amman – The government activated on Monday the “national service” platform to allow conscripts from the 2007 cohort to check their names.

The government carried out the electronic draw on Monday to conscripts for the 2026 national-service programme, in cooperation with the Jordan Armed Forces.

Government Communications Minister and official spokesperson Mohammad Al-Momani said the statistical draw to the first batch follows directives from Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II to ensure a transparent and fair process using precise digital systems.

Al-Momani said during a joint press conference that postponement is available only for students in annual-study programmes such as medicine and pharmacy, regular school students, and residents abroad who must join service once the reason for deferment ends.

He stressed the programme excludes no one who meets the criteria, noting that exemptions apply only to sole dependants of their parents or those proven medically unfit before specialised committees.

Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Minister Sami Samirat said the selection of 6,000 conscripts from the 2007 birth year was completed through a precise electronic draw overseen by a specialised technical committee to ensure transparency, fairness and data protection.

Samirat said during the joint press conference that the draw and selection of the 6,000 conscripts will be implemented in three batches during 2026, with 2,000 in each batch.
