jordan pulse -

At least dozens of people were killed and hundreds more wounded on Wednesday in a "preliminary toll" following a wave of simultaneous Israeli airstrikes targeting multiple regions across Lebanon, including the capital Beirut, the Lebanese Ministry of Health said.
The ministry described the strikes as a "very dangerous escalation," urging citizens to avoid congested areas, particularly in Beirut, to allow ambulances and rescue teams to reach the targeted sites. Traffic gridlock in the capital has significantly hampered emergency operations, officials added.
The Lebanese Red Cross announced that 100 ambulances are currently deployed to the affected areas, while hospitals have been asked to evacuate non-critical cases to accommodate the heavy influx of casualties. Internal Security Forces also issued an urgent plea for citizens to refrain from non-essential travel.
Lebanese Health Minister Rakan Nasser al-Din confirmed that the casualties span various parts of the country following the widespread bombardment.
The Israeli military stated it had carried out its largest operation in Lebanon since the start of the conflict on March 2, 2026. According to an army statement, approximately 100 military headquarters and infrastructure sites belonging to Hezbollah were struck in Beirut, the Bekaa Valley, and southern Lebanon.
The military described the operation as the most significant strike against Hezbollah’s infrastructure since the commencement of "Operation Lion’s Roar."
