Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi met in Abu Dhabi on Monday evening with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the meeting, Safadi and Sheikh Abdullah discussed regional developments, particularly the brutal Iranian attacks that targeted Jordan, the UAE, and several brotherly and friendly countries, and the dangerous repercussions of these attacks on regional and international security and stability, international maritime safety, energy supplies, and the global economy.
Safadi and Sheikh Abdullah condemned these attacks, which constitute a flagrant violation of state sovereignty, international law, and the United Nations Charter.
Safadi reaffirmed the Kingdom's absolute solidarity with the UAE in all measures and steps it takes to defend its sovereignty and security, and to ensure the safety of its citizens and residents. Sheikh Abdullah also confirmed the UAE's full solidarity with the Kingdom against the Iranian attacks that targeted it.
The two ministers also discussed developments following the Islamabad meeting and the announcement of the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, emphasizing the importance of strengthening collective international action to establish sustainable security and peace in the region in a way that ensures the end of all causes of tension from past decades and contributes to achieving the aspirations of its people for development and economic prosperity.
Safadi and Sheikh Abdullah discussed developments in the Gaza Strip and emphasized the need to implement all provisions of U.S. President Donald Trump's plan regarding Gaza and to strengthen the humanitarian response to meet the needs of the Strip. They also stressed the need to stop the deterioration in the occupied West Bank and to end all illegal Israeli measures that undermine the two-state solution.
Safadi and Sheikh Abdullah affirmed the depth of the deep-rooted historical brotherly relations between the Kingdom and the UAE and the keenness to strengthen them in various fields to serve the developmental priorities of both countries and their common interests, bringing goodness and prosperity to the two brotherly peoples. The two ministers confirmed the continuation of coordination, consultation, and cooperation in efforts to enhance security and stability in the region and face common challenges
