Minister of Transport Nidal Qatamin chaired a meeting at the Land Transport Regulatory Commission on the progress of work in the sector and to assess the requirements of the next phase.

During the meeting with the commission's director general Riyad Kharabsheh and ministry and commission officials and staff, Qatamin stressed the need to intensify efforts and enhance the readiness of personnel to address rapid developments in the sector.

He pointed to a recent increase in traffic in the Kingdom, driven by regional conditions, which requires a flexible and prompt response by relevant authorities to ensure smooth and efficient services.

The minister urged expansion in modern technology and digital platforms in the management and operation of the transport system, and to provide the sector with specialized and qualified staff to elevate performance.

He proposed setting up an independent unit within the Land Transport Regulatory Commission to address public transport complaints, which will enhance public trust and ensure quality service. A better user experience is a priority amid a growing demand for transport services, he pointed out.

At a separate meeting, the minister and Zaha Cultural Center Director Rania Sbaih went over the center's pressing transport needs, given the center's widespread presence across the Kingdom.

Qatamin ordered support for transport services by the center, which has about 25 branches across the governorates. He called for suitable transport solutions for children and visitors of the center, which will boost its cultural and community role.
