The United States confirmed on Saturday that it possesses the means to resume the war with Iran, as the White House announced that President Donald Trump will not conclude a deal with Tehran unless all of his conditions are met. This comes three months after the outbreak of the conflict that has swept the Middle East and shaken the global economy.
​The White House had previously reported that Trump was on the verge of making a decision regarding an agreement with Iran, following weeks of conflicting statements and reports concerning the ongoing negotiations, which are being mediated by Pakistan, with Qatar recently joining the diplomatic efforts. However, Trump did not reach a decision after a two-hour meeting with his aides in the White House Situation Room on Friday.
​Following the conclusion of the meeting, a White House official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, stated that Trump "will not accept any agreement that is not in the interest of America or does not meet his red lines," emphasizing that "Iran cannot possess a nuclear weapon."
​For his part, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced later on Saturday that the United States is "fully capable of resuming operations if necessary" against Iran.
