RIYADH — The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) in Saudi Arabia announced on Sunday evening that King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was targeted in a fresh assault, occurring on October 11, 2026.
GACA stated that the attack resulted in reported injuries, noting that comprehensive damage assessment operations and infrastructure safety verifications are currently underway in coordination with relevant authorities.
Earlier on Sunday, the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen reported that an unidentified projectile targeted Terminal 4 of King Khalid International Airport. The coalition indicated that air defense systems intercepted a missile in the airport's vicinity, while field response teams worked to contain and manage a fire ignited by the impact.
The latest security incident follows a major escalation on Saturday that resulted in 12 fatalities and over 300 injuries, prompting widespread international condemnations and the temporary suspension of operational traffic at the facility.
