Her Excellency Haifa Al-Najjar, the Jordanian Minister of Culture, signed today, Thursday, with her Lebanese counterpart, His Excellency Judge Muhammad Wissam Al-Murtada, and in the presence of the UNESCO representative in Lebanon, Shawki Sassine, the executive program agreement for cooperation between the two countries in the cultural and artistic field between them.
During a meeting with a number of media professionals on the sidelines of the start of the Jerash Festival, the minister said that today's cooperation between Lebanon and Jordan represents a series of continuous giving at various levels, especially with regard to art, creativity and culture.
Al-Najjar explained that cooperation with Lebanon will be at the level of publishing, translation, festivals, literature, arts, poetry and heritage, due to the privileges and intersections that the sister country holds with Jordan in terms of cultural, artistic and civilizational heritage.
For his part, the Lebanese minister affirmed that the dimensions of cooperation with Jordan in the cultural field are represented in activating cooperation on the ground, noting that Lebanon is going through challenges that it is trying to overcome and raise awareness of the audience.
And Al-Murtada added, "The challenges that Lebanon is suffering from in the cultural issue are somewhat similar to the Jordanian situation, so we will work together to face these challenges and twinning between the two countries to achieve every detail of the agreement."
