On Friday, the Arab Republic of Egypt welcomed the statement issued by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), which reflected a unified Arab stance in confronting these attacks, affirming its full solidarity with all sisterly Arab nations.
Egypt emphasized its complete support for any legitimate measures taken by these nations to preserve their security, stability, and sovereignty. It reiterated its absolute rejection and condemnation of targeting the sovereignty of these sisterly countries, as well as targeting civilians, civil installations, and vital infrastructure, in addition to any actions that threaten the security and freedom of international navigation.
Egypt also underscored the importance of respecting state sovereignty and territorial integrity, refraining from the use or threat of force, and adhering to the principles of good neighborliness and non-interference in internal affairs, thereby contributing to the preservation of regional and international peace and security.
Jordan and the GCC member states expressed their condemnation of the treacherous aggression launched by Iran and its proxies on their territories, drawing upon consecutive positions adopted by the GCC Ministerial Council, the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Arab League, international law, and UN Security Council Resolution 2817 of 2026.
The states affirmed that Iran’s attacks on their territories, citizens, and civilian infrastructure have continued without pause since February 28, 2026, and following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran on June 17, 2026. These attacks escalated particularly against the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, and Jordan, targeting energy facilities, water desalination plants, ports, airports, and other civilian objects.
The seven nations stressed that these ongoing attacks constitute overt acts of aggression violating the United Nations Charter, international law, international humanitarian law, UN Security Council Resolution 2817 of 2026, and the explicit commitments made by Iran under the Memorandum of Understanding, while also posing a threat to international peace and security.
Furthermore, the seven countries reaffirmed their inherent right to self-defense, individually or collectively, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, and to take all necessary legal measures to protect their sovereignty, territory, citizens, commercial vessels, and vital infrastructure in the face of these continuous attacks.
