Israeli military and security circles have warned of the possibility of the West Bank slipping into a third Palestinian "Intifada," at a time when the Israeli army raised its alertness level, declaring a state of maximum mobilization in anticipation of any uncalculated development.
This comes at a time when villages and towns across the West Bank witnessed, on Friday night and early Saturday morning, incursions and attacks by hundreds of settlers, who set fire to homes, vehicles, and farms belonging to Palestinians.
The Commander of the Central Command in the Israeli army had instructed preparations for executing a large-scale operation in the West Bank to counter terrorism through offensive operations to prevent the deterioration of the situation, using all available means, according to his statement.
